About
the Virtual Showcase
The Virtual Technology Showcase is a product of the cumulative efforts of
several Kansas organizations/partnerships (KAN-ED, KANDL, Plains Academy,
PT3, C2C, WKCSC, iTAC) with a common objective...the improvement of teaching
and learning environments through the application of available and appropriate
technologies. Using these technologies, this virtual conference will exploit
the educational efforts of hospitals, K-12 institutions, libraries, community
colleges and universities through online exhibits, virtual keynote presentations
and digital networking, to enable maximum interaction and participation
for every virtual visitor.
Who Should "Attend?"
All professional educators are welcome to visit this free, virtual environment.
The opportunity to begin or renew partnerships through targeted special
interest groups (Hospitals, K-12, Libraries, Higher Education and KANDL
Work Groups) are intended to enable and further discussion of issues of
particular interest to those groups.
Objectives /Purpose
The primary purposes of the virtual conference are fourfold:
- educate Kansans and the world about information technology events
within healthcare, libraries, K-12 and higher education.
- excite the public about information technology and the possibilities
available from KAN-ED.
- provide organizations with an opportunity to showcase best practices.
- provide and online mechanism for the formulation of Special Interest
Groups (SIGs) within KANDL (The Kansas Digital Learning Advisory Council
formed last year following the Convergence Conference), and the creation
of year-round interaction between these groups.
